Greywater DivertaTM & Irrigation System Use

. ..

INSTALLATION- The diverta connects onto a vertical waste pipe below the waste outlet or outlets as shown above so greywater can be diverted away from the waste pipe for recycling into the garden. The unit is gravity operated so irrigation point must also be at a level lower than the diverta. It can be fitted to reuse the greywater from just one fixture (eg. laundry) or multiple fixtures brought together into a single vertical waste pipe (eg bathroom & laundry). Fit inside or outside.

OPERATION- Operate by gravity without an external power source. You decide if your greywater is reused for the garden or wasted to sewer or the septic by a simple switch of the handle. The stainless steel filter needs to be regularly cleared of trapped lint etc, by users. Open the gas-tight childproof lid to withdraw the filter for cleaning & return/close. The built-in failsafe feature means that even if you forget to clean the filter and it blocks water simply bypasses the unit and is wasted to sewer without inhibiting normal free flow of wastewater from your home.

IRRIGATION- Gravity operated so you must irrigate the greywater at level lower than the diverta. You can either use a subsurface piped trench type irrigation arrangement or the subsurface Nylex Greywater Irrigation System. In some states (ACT, QLD) you can even just run the water over the surface of your gardens/lawns through a hose. Greywater Saver recommends only subsurface irrigation for reasons of health & safety. To see more details of how these subsurface irrigation systems work see the Diverta Kit instructions & Irrigation Kit instructions.

*Once installed reusing your greywater costs nothing more.
